I’m Morocco. The Ultimate Surf Trip

I`m Morocco Expedition 2019 is much more than a surf trip. It is an adventure where you will share a lifetime experience, you will push yourself over your limits, experience new sensations, and connect with nature, as well as to learn and evolve.

The most exciting part of this surf camp would be that is NOT a surf camp. With a maximum of ten people on each trip, we are able to open a window and show you the real surfing lifestyle. You will have the opportunity to taste and feel how a real surf trip is.

We do not work with locked timetables, we do not have strict plans, we do not care about your surf ability and we do not go with fixed ideas.

However, we are here to encourage the organic rhythm of your mind, your body, and your relationship with surf. You need to allow yourself to flow. Give yourself permission to improvise, and let this be guided by the tides of the ocean and the sun.

This trip is open to both men and women, it’s perfect for solo travelers looking to connect with likeminded people and share an amazing experience.

If you want to make this trip longer then flow this links to book for 15 nights or 21 nights. How long you stay with us is totally up to you!

The Experience

The surfing

We will always be searching for the best conditions to suit your ability.

The groups are kept small (1-5 people) to ensure everyone has the chance to progress and have the most fun possible. We will create a training plan for each guest that can be adapted to all levels. We also offer video coaching an analysis as well as training on the beach and on skateboards to improve muscle memory and ensure good habits are developed for the faster possible progression.

The conditions

For more experienced surfers, the best time to surf Taghazout starts in late September until the end of April. By end of the year, the north Atlantic hits all the surf spots around Taghazout. That’s when our various pointbreaks, of which some of them are mentioned to be the best surf spots around the world, become alive. Swell size might get up to 5ft. The consistent average is around 80% and the water temperature 16ºC. Morocco is blessed with 300 days of sun and warm temperatures where nights can be fresh.

Accommodation

We are staying at the Surf House of one of the most well-known locals in Taghazout. Rashid and Alia are good friends of ours, and we are sure they will also become good friends of yours. The House is located just a few minutes walk from the beach in the center of the town. It’s close to cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, other hostels, and camps… The house is completely equipped. With kitchen, WiFi and a beautiful roof terrace where we can chill at sunset.

Food

Breakfast is Included. Typical and Moroccan with bread, tea, fruits, eggs, oats, fresh orange juic, and more tea! For lunch and dinner we will be organizing the day acording to the surf. We can provide picnic sets or dinners deppending on the group requirements. Options are large. From a sardine bbq to a tayín local guided dinning. No plans no stress lots of fun and healthy tasty food.

Itinerary

We will be based at the small town of Taghazout.

Rashid and Alia will host us at their ocean view house making us feel like at home. From there we will be on the search for the best conditions.

We need to know that the ocean is ungovernable and we have to constantly adapt ourselves to what it has to offer us.

In case the surfing conditions are not favorable we have other options to satisfy the day. From horse riding to paragliding, to exploring a new nearby Medina.

We are here to make this a memorable trip for you!

I stood up on my surfboard from the first moment and I had many fears to go through but Sergio and Camila did not allowed me to quit and to get too frustrated. The resulted was unbelievable. I went trought many fears and got to surf way better than I expected.

The currency is the Moroccan dirham. We recommend you to exchange some pocket money at the Airport. The exchange rate is usually fare. There is no ATM in Taghazout, the nearest is Aourir (Banana Village), a five-minute drive from Taghazout. Note your ATM daily withdrawal limit is also in effect here as well, and you may not be able to withdraw large sums of money in one day.

Morocco is a liberal Muslim country, and men and women are welcome to wear shorts and t-shirts. Swimming costumes and bikinis are normal on the beach but it is advisable to cover up your arms and legs a bit when walking around town. Shorts, tees and flip flops are the norm. Trousers and jumpers are sometimes needed in the evenings all year round. In winter (Dec-Feb) evenings can be chilly so some warm clothes are a good idea during that period.
